Production Scheduler

Role:

The Supply Chain Production Scheduler position is a key role within our strategic plan for supply chain management at Vital Proteins. This role will support the production operations by planning, preparing and adjusting production schedules to minimize losses, create efficiencies and meet customer service demands. This position will contribute to the overall effectiveness of the Production Team. The incumbent will actively participate in the design of the ERP & MRP system. Strong collaboration with the Business Managers, Operations, Purchasing, Sales, Customer Service and Management will be critical to meeting business goals. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, this role will operate out of our production facility in Elk Grove Village and will be moving to Franklin Park in the next 4-5 months.


 

What you will be responsible for:

  • Lead, plan and control all scheduling activities by balancing production and inventory levels with demand to support consistent customer service levels, inventory turn goals and capacity utilization/staffing requirements
  • Communicate confirmed schedules to production team in a timely and efficient manner
  • Ensure that the Master schedule is current and aligns with current volumes and inventory of product
  • Expedites operations that delay schedules and leads schedules to meet unforeseen conditions
  • Learns and leverages all aspects of ERP, MRP, and MPS to manage the supply chain and operational activities
  • Assist with daily scheduling and SAP integration tasks.
  • Create and maintain documentation and standard operating procedures for production planning
  • Provide Financial and key performance information for Management purposes, as required by the business
  • Support Production with any projects by creating and communicating requirements to maintain an accurate Master Schedule
  • Schedule production for co-packer and co-blenders

 

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience in managing manufacturing processes, productivity, and efficiency measurements
  • Experience using MRP, ERP (SAP), and MPS systems prefered
  • 1+ years in Production Planning
  • Food Manufacturing, Food retail experience a plus
  • Experience and knowledge of SAP preferred
  • An interest in continuous improvements
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Must be comfortable  working  with all levels of staff and management
  • You are passionate about the health, fitness, and/or beauty market
