Vital Proteins is seeking a coffee-enthusiast to join our new office space as an in-house Barista!  As an energetic and innovative company, we are looking for someone to match our collective energy and enthusiasm in designing and serving fresh, creative coffee concoctions. The Barista will be at the center of our internal cafe experience and must be passionate and creative with regards to coffee, as well as to wellness.  This role will operate in our corporate cafe located in our new Fulton Market/West Loop office. 

The barista we are looking for is a coffee professional who has the experience and training to deliver coffee and espresso-based beverages to our patrons that demonstrate craftsmanship and quality, creating a culinary experience for the customer.  We will help develop your career through a variety of exceptional educational opportunities including a Barista Certificate Program with the Barista Guild of America and attendance at Specialty Coffee Association events.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Creating specialty coffee and beverages for our employees, in a fast-paced corporate setting
  • Create a welcoming friendly atmosphere for our office employees
  • Ordering, inventory management, and stocking of coffee and beverage items in kitchen and in various office locations
  • Understanding and costing of cafe budgetary purchases with a focus on efficient purchasing
  • Researching and sourcing of new or existing vendors for the corporate cafe area
  • Daily clean-up and tidying of kitchen and cafe area
  • Creating innovative drinks and drink options for our employees

Who you are:

  • You have 2-4 years experience as a barista
  • You have a food handler’s certificate (preferred)
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • A problem-solver and always looking for new, better ways to operate
  • Passionate about culinary arts, with a focus on coffee beverages
  • You are passionate about the health, fitness, and/or beauty markets
  • Attentive to detail with a focus on excellent internal customer experience
