Senior Accountant

Role:

The Senior Accountant role is a multi-functional role that will expose the employee to all business aspects of a growing company.  You will be responsible for management of various accounting processes including payroll, bookkeeping, AP/AR, budgetary management and special projects. You will be pivotal in providing financial analysis to support strategic business initiatives and driving results to achieve Company financial goals.  The Senior Accountant will report to the Director of Finance and operate out of our corporate office located in West Loop. 

What you will be responsible for:

  • Ownership of the month-end close processes - balance sheet reconciliations, general ledger review, accounts receivable management
  • Implementation and execution of internal controls and all accounting processes and procedures
  • Financial statement preparation and review to ensure accuracy of financial reporting
  • Review of weekly company payroll, invoice entry, and check/payment runs 
  • Capital projects oversight
  • Internal financial reporting and analysis
  • External investor financial reporting
  • Manages year end audit/review by external CPA firm
  • Budgeting and forecasting – driving results to achieve desired financial goals
  • Cash flow analysis/forecasting including inventory and procurement planning
  • Analytical reporting liaison with Company’s sales and marketing team to optimize spending and revenue generation
  • Working with the Director of Finance on departmental projects and implementations to help scale the company financial process

Who you are:

  • You have a bachelors degree in, accounting, finance or a related field
  • 3 - 7 years of previous accounting experience; preferably with management of direct report(s)
  • Prefer a public accounting background in audit/assurance or private sector with a growing company
  • You have experience with ERP software; SAP preferred
  • You are comfortable in a fast paced quickly changing environment
  • You are a self-starter with proven ability to take initiative and multi-task
  • You are passionate about the health, fitness, and/or beauty markets
  • You have strong verbal and written communication skills and are not afraid to speak up and ask questions 
  • You are always looking for ways to improve processes, learn and develop the accounting function
  • You have a strong attention to detail, always looking for errors and improving your work
