Trade Marketing Manager

The Trade Marketing Manager will support our National Sales team.  This role will be based in our office space in the West Loop and will report to our SVP of Sales and work very closely with our marketing team.  The individual will be instrumental to the support of field sales and will work to deliver revenue and profit margins by means of program management, sales and trade collateral and messaging creation, distribution, training and will work closely with sales operations and sales analyst teams on program ROI and evaluating Go to Market and optimization by channel, segment and consumer.  The role will be responsible for deploying trade marketing funds and working closely with Regional Sales Managers to ensure that funds being leveraged are impactful to both consumer behavior and our bottom line.  We seek an individual who is a team player and an entrepreneur who thrives in fast paced, dynamic environment who thrives with change, as our culture is a curious one and we continually information gather, evaluate and evolve. 


What you will be responsible for:

  • Assisting SVP of Sales with budget development and allocation process
  • Setting revenue trade budgets and driving accountability through business review process and drive business process improvement with field sales
  • Creating vision, direction and execution for all trade marketing and category development for all channels, segments and customers
  • Acting as a primary communication channel between creative team to/from field sales
  • Creating and maintaining a centralized repository of sales materials and trade assets that covers g- to-market strategies, promotional items, coverage maps, brand decks, competitive decks, sell sheets, market trends and appropriately disseminate information to sales teams, as needed
  • Responsible for deploying working trade/slotting investments, monitoring efficiencies, closed loop analysis and working closely with sales operations to track trade marketing utilization and best possible ROI. 


Who you are:

  • 7-10 years of experience preferably in start-up and/or CPG industry
  • Strong organizational, problem solving and business planning skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including negotiation and presentation skills
  • Team skills – ability to share ideas, collaborate, work with and assist other team members to ensure the success of the team
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage and measure progress for implemented plans and programs 
  • Creative with great attention to detail
  • Strong proficiency in computer technologies – Microsoft office, familiarity with ERP/CRM
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to develop the position and identify opportunities to drive National sales
  • Ability to work cross departmentally with all levels of management
  • Willing to travel up to 30% (including nights and weekends)
