Job Summary

The Quality Assurance Associate's primary responsibility is to assist is the execution of quality processes and procedures in support of Vital Proteins Quality Assurance program. The Quality Assurance Associate will carry out the company vision and mission through his work, as an integral part of the Vital Proteins team.  Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Assurance Associate will operate out of the Vital Proteins production facility in Elk Grove Village, but will be moving in 2018 to Franklin Park.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Pull samples of raw materials, work in progress materials, and finished products then send to 3rd party laboratory 
  • Perform quality checks on incoming raw materials, packaging components, and labels
  • Perform quality checks during production and assist with batch production records
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Report any process errors, product failures, or deviations to supervisors
  • Create controlled documents and records
  • Create batch production records and review completed batch production records prior to release 
  • Create result review records for components, work in progress, and finished products and release/reject materials
  • Provide guidance to Quality Assurance Technicians
  • Execute all process in accordance with company standard operating procedures and cGMP

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • High attention to detail
  • Comfortable in a fast paced, changing environment
  • Microsoft Office product suite capability including Word, Excel, & PowerPoint
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • You are passionate about the health, fitness, and/or beauty markets
  • Can lift 25-50 lbs. on occasion
  • Experience working in a GMP environment for food or supplements is preferred
