Supply Chain Systems Specialist (SAP)

Role:

The Supply Chain System Specialist is responsible for supporting the accuracy of our systems operations and specifically SAP transactions, executed by our supply chain team.  The position will also test new interfaces to ensure that system workflows are optimized and interact with end-users to make changes as requested and obtain feedback.  The position will report to the Director of Supply Chain and operate out of our West Loop location.

 

What you will be responsible for:

  • Performing daily walk-through checks to ensure all SAP movements are captured correctly
  • Ensure all Supply Chain data is entered correctly in SAP.
  • Serve as the SAP subject matter expert for the Supply Chain Team.
  • Work with the leadership team to design the Supply Chain process in SAP, i.e. getting MRP system setup and running properly.
  • Manage the SAP control point process for data entry to ensure the correct parties are entering transactions and all entries are accurate.
  • Develop Supply Chain reports in SAP.
  • Ensure production data entry in SAP S4/Hana.
  • In charge of data maintenance in SAP.
  • Trouble shooting Supply Chain issues in SAP.
  • Training, coaching, and mentoring new and existing employees with SAP.
  • Serving as the knowledge base for various other systems, including but not limited to ShipStation, WMS, etc.
  • Other Supply Chain duties as assigned

Who you are:

  • 5 – 10 years’ relevant work experience with SAP in a fast-paced manufacturing environment preferred, SAP Cloud Based S/4 Hana experience preferred.
  • Bachelors degree in related field.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including expertise with Word and Excel, and strong data entry skills. 
  • Ability to conduct Root Cause Analysis assessments, evaluate processes and implement improvements.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task, manage time, prioritize assignments and maintain accountability.
  • Experience identifying areas for continuous improvement and making recommendations for enhancement.  Demonstrated experience in problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience working with and making recommendations for efficiencies with ERP systems and tools, such as SAP.  
  • Ability to consolidate complex information into usable formats when reporting and providing insightful analysis to business partners in response to business needs or opportunities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, presentation skills, and the ability to work well in team environments.
  • Solid work ethic with a high level of energy and a “roll-up-the-sleeves” approach.
