Role:

The Graphic Designer will assist the Creative Director in Vital Proteins’ brand positioning, messaging, and overall image for a health & wellness product company that also touches the fitness and beauty communities.

The Graphic Designer’s primary responsibility is to help articulate the brand’s personality and values through the development of print materials, product labels, packaging, advertisements, editing of photography, promotional products, websites, and social media content. We are looking for someone to support upcoming digital advertisement campaigns, as well as the development and updating of our product labels and packaging. Those will be the two specific specializations of this particular position. Otherwise, the position offers a 360-degree approach to graphic design, with the opportunity to handle a wide variety of projects.

The Graphic Designer with work closely with the Creative Director, and alongside another Graphic Designer, to execute Vital Proteins internal design needs and carry out the Vital Protein’s brand strategy. The right candidate will contribute creatively to the evolution of the Vital Proteins brand through creative ideas and solutions. He or she will be confident and exceptionally self-motivated, and thrive in a free-thinking, collaborative, and fast-paced working environment. It’s also important to be extremely adaptable, as many projects pop up on the radar at the last minute and the company continues to grow at record speed.

Responsibilities:

  • Design materials to support the growth of the Vital Proteins brand, including ads, photography, promotional materials, product literature, web pages, and other online content;
  • Help storyboard and envision digital video advertisements alongside videographer and marketing team
  • Create, update and print labels for products and packaging for a 20+ product collection, as well as handle monthly label runs;
  • Create custom illustrations or other graphic elements as needed to enliven designs;
  • Prepare and deliver print-ready materials for printing or publication;
  • Develop graphics and creative assets for social media presence
  • Research and source new opportunities ranging from collateral pieces to new vendors
  • Manage file library and archive of creative content such as product photography
  • Interpret and execute direction from Creative Briefs and the Creative Director
  • Confirm accuracy of all files before going to print; Must exhibit an attention to detail
  • Prep and submit necessary labels and files to ensure compliance
  • Retouch and edit photography for marketing materials
  • Assist with presentation design and layout when needed

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years experience as a graphic designer in a business or agency  setting
  • Product and packaging design experience preferred
  • Previous experience in advertising a plus
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X Operating systems as well as core business programs such as Microsoft Office and Google Docs.
  • Photography and videography skills are a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in a creative field from a four-year college or university
  • Outgoing, personable and friendly
  • Strong personal interest in health and wellness, fitness, or beauty markets
