Role:

Did you know that at Vital Proteins we consider Customer Supply Chain Operations as the engine that accelerates value creation?  Getting hundreds of different products onto the shelves in our customer's stores in the right quantities with precise quality in a very good time manner really does present a meaningful work every single day. This role requires a strong multi-functional work, which means that you'll work with other functions both internally and externally and you will be responsible to make sure that we have the right product at the right place with the right cost. Operating out of our West Loop office, this role will report to the SVP of Sales with strong relationships to supply chain. 

What you will be responsible for:

  • Working with sales to forecasting customer demand and executing production planning for a line of products
  • Responsible for the physical flow process from forecast to suppliers through production and distribution centers to the customers shelf
  • Able to visualize, articulate, and solve problems and concepts, and make decisions that make sense based on available information. Apply logical thinking to gathering and analyzing information, designing and testing solutions to problems, and formulating plans.
  • Work as a business partner to our sales team to ensure accurate and timely deliverance of orders
  • Working with leadership and management to understand visionary and strategic needs of the product
  • Strong thinking/problem-solving skills which can be applied to business processes with a "can-do" attitude
  • Strong ability to multi-task and project manage multiple projects
  • Interest in health and wellness preferred

Who you are:

  • Must have a  Bachelor’s or Master’s in business operations or a similar degree preferably with a business focus
  • 3 + years experience in supply chain
  • Familiar with sourcing and vendor management software, preferably experience with ERP Systems such as NetSuite
  • Able to travel to multiple plants and vendor facilities to advocate and ensure quality execution as needed
  • Able to problem solve and project management between sales and supply chain with a strength in using innovation & creativity
  • Comfortable interfacing with all levels of management and leadership to ensure execution
