Senior Cost Accountant

Job Summary

As a Senior Cost Accountant, you will be supporting our Supply Chain & Manufacturing teams, you will have the opportunity to own the operations P+L for multiple branded platforms and geographies while partnering with the Operations teams to help drive the business forward! This role performs highly complex and interpretive financial analyses that are both historical and forward looking. You will be expected to present analysis and recommendations to management, from both a financial and strategic lens.  This role may perform business analytics, create customer pricing, monthly forecasting, risk & opportunity planning, metrics & scorecards and various ad-hoc analyses. Reporting to the CFO, this role will be located in our Franklin Park facility.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Establish daily, weekly & monthly reporting decks
  • Assist in capital allocation strategy by leading ROI analysis on plant-driven CapEx initiatives
  • Lead the maintenance of costing standards (throughput, crewing, scrap, etc)
  • Lead Fixed Asset program
  • Act as Business Partner to Supply Chain
  • Monthly analysis and reconciliation of cost of goods sold
  • Participate in and report on quarterly and annual physical inventories
  • Work closely with the manufacturing departments to ensure transactions are recorded properly
  • Assists with internal and external audit by pulling selected documentation and ensuring proper support is provided
  • Participate in the costing/pricing process
  • Assist in the creation of product-level and innovation P+Ls
  • Ensure standards (and thus margins) are accurate
  • Continuous Review of BOM accuracy
  • Monthly & Periodic Freight Analysis
  • Additional duties as assigned

Who you are:

  • BS degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 4 + years of experience in accounting with a manufacturing organization in a plant setting.
  • Knowledge of and skill in cost accounting principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including advanced Excel functionality.
  • Experience in SAP preferred.
  • Strong analytical and accounting research skills
  • Strong attention to detail. Able to work with detail information, while also being able to perceive and define the larger/underlying issues and drivers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization
  • Ability to coordinate resources required for completion of tasks/projects
