Role

Purchasing Coordinator will own the purchase order process. This includes coordinating and managing all activities during the purchasing process, such as creating purchase orders, monitoring transportation and invoice creation and follow-through. Analyze and monitor internal, economic, and consumer trends to forecast sales and inventory. This person will help build the infrastructure and policy of purchasing non-inventoried items (primarily SG&A spend.) Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this role will be located in our West Loop Office. 

What you will be responsible for

  • Work cross-functionally with other departments to create PO’s, track invoice receipt and where applicable three-way match
  • Ensure purchases are approved in accordance with established policy
  • Answer all inquiries from suppliers on POs; adjust orders, update pricing, vendor contact info, etc.
  • Follow up on late orders, backorders and mis-ships
  • For recurring spend, setup blanket PO’s and administrate
  • Knack for continuous improvement

Who you are

  • BS, BA or equivalent from an accredited 4-year university or college
  • Advanced skills in Excel including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables
  • Proven ability to self-motivate in a fast paced environment, ability to deal with ambiguity, change and a dynamic business environment.
  • ERP Experience is a plus
  • Honest and open communication
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
